DETROIT BEACH ASSOCIATION, INC.

 

The Regular Meeting of the Detroit Beach Association was held on October 23, 2007 at the Detroit Beach Office.  Jackie Wellman, Roxanna Emerson, Wendy Fisher, Susan Carr, Matt Graham and Matt Durocher were present.  Joe McDevitt, Duane Sandifer and Danny Blevins were absent.  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.  The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

  

Guest Speaker:  Tim from Big Mac’s Lawn Care spoke to the board concerning the snow removal contract for this year.  He presented ideas of how to save money on salt as well as call outs.

 

Financial Report:       presented by Wendy Fisher

v     Motion to approve report made by Roxanna Emerson.  Approved 6-0

 

Law & Order Report:   presented by Wendy Fisher

v     Frank Green updated the board on the Resort Authority Meeting

v     Frank also brought up an alarm system used by other beaches.

 

Building & Grounds Report: No report

v     Wendy to send letter about fence in alley way.

v     Matt Graham will run community service this week and clean out the garage and do an inventory.

v     Wendy to send out letter to lot owner who dropped 4 trees in Bear Park.  They must clean-up or we will have Big Mac’s clean area and charge $300, a one week notice will be given.

v     Big Mac’s will do a fall clean-up of the parks.

 

Ongoing Business:

v     Boat Club issues (Inspection & Fence/Gate):  Inspection letter has been sent.  Motion to close gated area of Boat Club fence at a cost of $150 made by Wendy Fisher.  Approved 6-0

v     Halloween Party:  Everything has been purchases and volunteers have been scheduled.

v     Property Ownership Update:  Wendy has updated.

v     Proposed 4th of July Event:  A vote was taken to show support for this project.  Resulting in a 6-0 decision to not proceed with this project.

 

New Business:

v     Snow Removal Contract:  Big Mac’s was voted for this year’s contract.

v     November / December Meeting Dates:  November’s meeting will be moved to Nov. 20th and December’s meeting has been cancelled.

 

Public Participation – Sheriff stopped a car from being towed, this car should have been towed.  Towing will take place before and after Halloween, not during Trick-or-Treating hours.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
